Meet Jeff Henderson, Head Brewer
At Airline Brewing Company, Head Brewer Jeff Henderson brings a deep appreciation for traditional British beer to the heart of rural Maine.
Working from Airline’s historic brewery in Amherst, Jeff helps carry forward a brewing program centered on British and Old World styles—from approachable pub ales and bitters to rich porters, stouts and traditional cellar-conditioned cask ales. His philosophy fits naturally with Airline’s belief that beer should be flavorful, welcoming and made to be enjoyed in good company.
Jeff’s enthusiasm for British brewing extends well beyond the brewhouse. He is a regular visitor to Burton-on-Trent, England, a city with centuries of brewing history and a culture built around the kind of balanced, characterful cask beer that inspires Airline’s own approach. Those experiences reinforce his respect for traditional methods while giving him fresh ideas to bring home to Maine.
For Jeff, great brewing is not about chasing every passing trend. It is about understanding ingredients, respecting the process and producing a pint people will want to sit with. Whether it is poured from a conventional tap or drawn by hand from a properly conditioned cask, every Airline beer reflects his commitment to quality, tradition and the shared experience of the pub.
From a restored former furniture mill along the Airline Road, Jeff is helping preserve an Old World brewing tradition in a distinctly Maine setting—one thoughtfully made pint at a time.
“Great beer should have character, balance and a reason to order another pint.”
